Q: How many additional devices is the ElkGuard capable of
supporting?
A: ElkGuard can have up to 24 devices learned into the system (this is inclusive of the main PIR detector that is built into the main unit) This provides up to 23 remote wireless devices with at least one key fob programmed.
Q: Does the system have to monitored by a central station?
A: No. ElkGuard also offers a Commercial
Remote service plan that includes sending signals via email or text
message in the event of an alarm.
Q: Will the ElkGuard’s GSM signal work anywhere?
A: No. The GSM Cellular Radio requires access to nearby GSM Transmission tower. It cannot function without adequate signal strength. Some buildings or locations may not be conducive to GSM coverage or the location within the building may so critical that the location of the ElkGuard will need to be adjusted to obtain the best signal strength.
Q: Will the ElkGuard work outside?
A: No. The built in PIR motion detector is not designed for outdoor applications.
