Lighting Control Minimizing unnecessary usage of lighting can provide significant energy savings. Consider the benefits of integrating lighting control with the security system. Motion sensors used to detect intrusion can also be used to monitor occupancy of a room and automatically turn lights off in rooms that are not occupied. Lights can be automatically turned off when the system is armed to away mode. Use of lighting scenes, based on type of activity, can provide proper lighting and reduce energy consumption. Controlling shades and/or blinds can help the heating /cooling system work more efficiently, saving money and increasing the longevity of the heating/cooling system. The M1 system can control electronic window coverings in the summer to prevent radiant heat from raising temperatures in the premise and in the winter to allow natural heat from the sun to warm the room. Closing shades/blinds at night during the winter helps trap heat inside and prevent cool air from seeping in. |
