ALERT!
NEW GUIDELINES FOR ELK SHIPMENTS
PLEASE ADVISE
YOUR RECEIVING DEPARTMENT:
Effective
immediately, Elk Products will not be responsible for items missing or
damaged from shipments if your receiving department does
not note the discrepancies or damages with the delivering carrier.
If your receiving
department signs for goods as if they are received in good condition, we
cannot file a claim with the carrier so we cannot credit you for damaged
or missing goods. Encourage your receiving department to unwrap pallets,
count the cartons, note the piece count on the bill of lading, sign
and initial if it is a truck shipment.
Do not
sign for packages delivered by UPS or FedEx without inspecting the
goods and alerting the driver of any discrepancies or damages - packages
without the Elk logo are a warning sign that UPS or FedEx may have damaged
the carton(s) (and possibly the goods) and re-packed them - CHECK your
goods. We must file claims with the carriers in a timely fashion so
discrepancies noted with the carrier MUST be brought to Elk's
attention in writing within 5 business days or no credits can be issued.
