Phone/Email
Notification to Installers
Unexpected troubles
can cause your customers undue anxiety.
Why wait for a customer to call you when there is a problem with
their system. With the
examples below, you can have the M1 system notify you of low battery
troubles, zone troubles, etc. via phone or email.
In the example below,
the system will call the installer’s cell phone when a low backup
battery is detected.
|
WHENEVER
CONTROL LOW
BATTERY
TROUBLE IS
DETECTED
THEN DIAL Installer (5551234) AND ANNOUNCE Miscellaneous
1(vm 239) |
A
voice message programmed in Miscellaneous 1 (vm 239), which describes the
trouble, will be announced through the phone when the call is made.
In the example below,
the M1 sends an email to the installer when an RF transmitter is lost.
|
WHENEVER
TRANSMITTER SUPERVISION LOSS IS DETECTED
THEN SEND EMAIL MESSAGE 1 TO installer@abcalarm.com |
The
ELK-M1XEP
Ethernet Interface is required for email capability. The email portion
of the M1XEP setup in ElkRP must be configured properly to send emails.
Now that you have
been informed of the problem, you can contact your customer and schedule a
time to take care of it. Your
customers will appreciate the level of service you can provide by setting
up these simple rules.
