Automated Water Heater = Energy Savings

Water heating is the third largest energy expense, accounting for about 14% of energy costs (up to 17% in homes).  Automating the electric hot water heater can save a bundle on energy bills.  With the M1 it is easy to control the hot water heater, based on time or an event.

When the customer arms the system before heading off to work on Monday-Friday, the water heater will be turned off.

The customer wants the water heater back on before he arrives home at 5:00pm .  This rule will turn the water heater back on at 4:00pm .

These time settings may be opposite for a commercial account.
