Remote Programming Software.
Serial RS-232 Protocol for the M1
Protocol specifications for the RS-232 serial interface port(s) on the
ELK-M1. Using this protocol it is possible to interface with various third
party devices that can utilize serial ASCII strings. This includes:
computers, lighting systems, HVAC systems, Access Systems, and many other
types of automation devices.

Configuration Utility (2.83MB)
This utility is used to configure the network settings, serial port baud rate,
and handshaking settings of ELK-IP232. This utility is also used to update
the bootware/firmware of the ELK-IP232.
ELK-USB232
PC Drivers (456KB)
PC Drivers for ELK-USB232 Serial cable to convert USB to RS-232. This
special cable is used to connect the M1 Control to a computer that does not have
a conventional RS-232 9-pin serial port.
M1 Prox
Code Calculator (44KB)
Allows M1 Proximity access cards to be programmed through ElkRP. Based on
the site code and card number located on the card this program provides the hex
value needed to input into ElkRP. The hex value from ElkRP can also be
entered to produce the site code and card number.
Check
Sum Generator (24KB)
This is a quick and easy program that allows you to compose
an ASCII string using the RS232 protocol document. It then calculates the
checksum for you.
Code
"Calculator" for Essex 26 Bit Wiegand Output Keypads
Use this application when connecting an Essex Wiegand Output Keypad to the
proximity reader input of the M1 Keypad. The Essex keypad will produce a
26 bit Wiegand output based on two input parameters, the site code and user
pin. This "calculator" allows you to enter the site code
and user pin and gives you the hex code that can be entered in the code field of
the user's record in ElkRP, allowing remote "enrollment" of the user
pin.
