While setting up a new touch panel, I walked away from the panel during the firmware update. When I came back, it had defaulted to the manufacturer’s page, and I couldn’t get the panel to revert to the previous page. When I performed a reset, the Elk Logo and a circle appeared, followed by the manufacturer’s panel page. Spoke with tech support, and we were unable to get it back up. Need to send back. Has anyone come across this before?

I apologize for the issue you experienced. While we haven’t seen this specific problem before, I have reported it to our engineering team for review. One thing to be aware of—and something we’ll work to better document—is that when you first select the AE application, the unit must restart to complete its initial configuration. This happens automatically and usually takes about two minutes.

After choosing the AE application from the selector screen, allow the unit to load fully on the AE home page. If you’d like to speed things up, you can go to the touchscreen settings page and select the manual restart option. If your version does not have a restart button, you can manually power cycle the unit by pressing the reset button on the back. This restart is only required the first time you launch the AE application from the M1/AE selection screen.

We are working to simplify this setup process in future releases.

        Thanks,
        Mike

Mike… We got a replacement unit from System Depot and sent the bad unit back to Sacramento.

Manuel – No worries, this works. Thanks
