The alarm outputs on the control are speaker outputs. Strobes require voltage outputs. The Alarm Engine controls generat their own siren and sounder tones. The reason the strobe activates consistently is the speaker alarm outputs have the presence of 12v volts even when they are not active in order to properly supervise the connection. You will need to utilize one of the programmable outputs.
Outputs 1 – 10 are oply rated at 50ma, so I would recommend utilizing the form C output 11. Power it from the AUX output and loop your POS or NEG from the strobe through the N/O and COM. Then utlize rules to close the relay upon the alarm activations.
Please note that you will need to use a rule to activate the strobe and a rule to deactivate the strobe.
Alarm Output Status – The alarm outputs are active when an alarm is present. So there isnt a specific status indication of the alarm outputs due to them being tied to the main system alarm indication. Essentially if the system is in “Alarm” the alarm outputs are active. If it is not in alarm, they are not active.
