Alarm.com offers a universal module called the LX30B-Q50T. This is a dial-capture cellular device that emulates a telephone dial tone. It also allows basic control through the Alarm.com mobile app by using a “keyswitch” type zone and a programmable output from the control panel. We’ve just completed our internal testing of this module and are close to providing instructions and documentation to Alarm.com for their official compatibility review. Once approved, they will list the ELK E27 and M1 as compatible controls and offer tech support on implementing the module on our systems.
But to answer the question directly: we do not anticipate a native or direct integration with Alarm.com on the ELK roadmap.
Using the universal module provides basic app control (remote arming and disarming), push notifications, and system status. However, it does not support automation features such as lights, thermostats, or locks, and it does not allow any system configuration for either dealers or end users. For higher-level integration, automation, and full configuration capabilities, the ElkConnect App and service is the recommended solution.
That said, if your customer is committed to using Alarm.com, the LX30B is a viable option. You can still use the ElkConnect App over IP for remote configuration while relying on the Alarm.com module for cellular backup and end-user app access. If you’re interested, we can share the “unofficial” instructions we’re submitting to Alarm.com this week for their review.
Thanks,
Mike
