I have now set my Elk M1 to be monitored by Alarm-Relay.com. Every once in a while (Maybe Once a week) under System Alarms And Messages I get the error messages below:

      Dialer Communication Failure

      Ethernet Communication Failure

I have to reboot the M1 to get it to clear. I am also wondering if there is a specific setup that the M1XEP Ethernet interface that communicates to the switch. Does the switch interface need to be set to auto negotiate / 1000 / 100? I am using a Cisco Catalyst switch. What do those errors indicate normally?

      Thank you.

Dialer Communication Failure would indicate the M1 attempted to send a signal to your Central Monitoring Service (Alarm.com) and did not receive the Acknowledgement for their receiver. This message will continue to display until the M1 does receive the expected Acknowledgement signal from their receiver. Power cycling the M1 does clear the message. In the M1XEP Setup under the Central Station Tab do you have “Supervise the Connection with a Heartbeat Interval Time Value”?

Thanks Brad……I do have the “Supervise the Connection with a Heartbeat Interval Time Value”, but it is not checked. Shall I check it? Interval 30 seconds? Is that correct for the interval or shorter?
