Is it normal that my ELK-7TS needs to reconnect to my M1 system frequently? Sometimes 3 times a day sometimes every 2nd or 3rd day. Almost every time I go to use it, it needs to reconnect. Most times it reconnects fine, occasionally I need to reboot it.
Its connected via 2.4G WiFi access point located about 10 feet away with no obstructions and shows a -50 dBm signal strength.
The About screen shows Version 1.0.467 Build 182 Firmware 2.0.14, I believe these are the latest available.February 11, 2026 at 12:02 pm #9983Brad Weeks
Version 1.0.479 is the latest version — click Menu, Installer Settings and you should see a Yellow banner with Update instructions.
Within the M1XEP Setup you’ve enabled the Non-Secure Port 2101?
In the 7TS Setup you are connecting on the Non-Secure Port 2101?

On both the M1XEP and on the 7TS I have Secure Port 2601 selected. Do I need to select 2101 to update the firmware?
When I open the menu on the 7TS, the installer settings option has a yellow dot next to it but it goes away after a couple of seconds. I don’t see any yellow banner.
Will\should it download a firmware update itself or do I need to download the file first?

If the 7TS has Internet Access the update is automatically available. What is the Serial Number of the 7TS ? In the M1XEP Setup under the TCP/IP Setting tab make sure the Non-Secure Port 2101 is enabled. In the 7TS setup the Port to connect should be 2101

can you elaborate on the use of port 2101 (non-secure) rather than port 2601 (secure) ?
From a teacher who wants to make sure the ELK-7TS installation and configure goes according to plan and that the students don’t get stuck somehow using it
Thanks
February 17, 2026 at 10:26 pm #10024Eric LaurinAlso, the 7TS that I have on my bench test said I needed to update it from version 1.0.411 to 1.0.459. For some reason, I can’t find any details on version 1.0.459 in this document…

Version 1.0.459 is not the latest. The latest seems to be 1.0.467. Is there a way to force an update ?
After updating the unit, here’s what I ended up with…
Version 1.0.459 Build 182 Firmware 2.0.14
February 17, 2026 at 10:33 pm #10025Eric Laurin… forgot to add the serial number in case you need it.
Serial Number: 100267297
NOTE : we bought about 20 ELK-7TS
