I have an installation / Wiring Question. I have both the M1XRFTW And M1DBH. The M1XRFTW is connected to the 4 wire Terminal on the Elk M1 and the rest of my devices (Keypads x 3, M1XLZW, etc) and are connected to the M1DBH Data Bus Hub via J1 using the optional W018B cable. Is this wiring configuration acceptable? I am just curious, because the M1 install manual states that the J1 port is for test purposes only and not to be used. It is a bit confusing to me when some other manuals I read state that it is ok to use the J1 Terminal on the M1 Main Control Board For The M1DBH. Thank you.

J1 and J2 on the M1 Main Board are the same connection points as the M1 RS485 Green Terminal Block. J1 and J2 were intended as temporary connections for bench testing. We would suggest hardwiring to the RS485 Green Terminal for a more secure connection but you can use the J1/J2 if you’d like. When the M1DBH is connected to the Green Terminal Block and you have the M1XRFTWM connected to J1 this is basically 2 Home Runs.
