I have a customer needing to update their panel to fix some issues that have been corrected in a recent firmware.
Is remote update capability on the horizon soon? They are located quite a ways away, so remote updating would simplify things a lot. Thanks,

We are currently allowing beta testing of the remote update option through the web portal. I’d be happy to opt you into the test so you can provide feedback. There are a few things to note:
-
Only control panels with E27 CB 0.5.51 or higher are capable of accepting a remote firmware update.
-
The UI in the web portal and the transmission of the firmware file to the control are what we are beta testing.
-
The control must be disarmed in order to update it.
- The update from the cloud is a 15-20min process.
Issues that have been reported and are being addressed:
-
Systems with a lot of activity can cause the firmware file transfer to fail. This happens because each activity or zone activation transmits a status change to any connected device, including the web portal. We’ve made significant improvements to reduce this issue, but there’s still a bit more work to make the process fully robust. For example, we experienced this on a large system in a public location where customers were frequently triggering motions and door contacts. So far, we haven’t seen this issue with residential systems.
-
The UI in the dealer portal currently includes some special settings. Please do not adjust these. In the official release, they’ll be hidden for admin use only, but we’ve left them visible in the beta to get the feature in front of dealers more quickly.
Please let me know if you’re interested in testing this out and I’ll be happy to opt you in. If anyone else is interested, feel free to respond and let me know as well.
Thanks,
MikeOctober 15, 2025 at 1:23 pm #9605Jeff NoelI am definitely interested, but this board is only on firmware 0.0.5.38. So looks like we’ll need to get this updated the old fashioned way one more time.
I do have VPN access to this board, but it doesn’t look like the app is able to discover it as a local device over VPN, unless you happen to have a secret way I can tell it a specific IP address to look at to consider it local.
Thanks,

I will get you opted into the beta testing. I will email you some instructions on using the service and I have some ideas on the this specific system update I will share as well.
Thanks,
Mike
