I have received multiple complaints from customers that they have trouble silencing troubles that most often naturally occur in the middle of the night.  On most systems, a simple push of the * key will silence the trouble beeps.  Can this be implemented in a future upgrade?

John – I will talk with engineering to see if we can add a “toggle” option in system settings to disable the code requirement to clear the trouble state. It was implemented due to UL requirements.

Also, The E27 systems to have “quite time” that is set in keypads by default which is set to 11pm to 6am. During quite time trouble beeps are suppressed. This is can be configured to different times or disabled.

Quiet time is overkill for most customers who want to know about an issue, but don’t want to fight the system to acknowledge it.

Your feedback is noted. Our goal is to provide alternative configurations so that our solution applies to a variety of applications, customer types, and system requirements. We are working as quickly as we can to continue implementing these configurable options as we receive feedback from the field.

I fully understand, from my time in the field and from having my own installation company for many years, that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. The more options, the better. We just need to provide our dealers/integrators with the ability to configure the system to meet their needs and applications.

Regarding the request for troubles to be silenced with the * button, I spoke with engineering yesterday, and they confirmed that, “at first glance,” adding the option to disable the PIN requirement for silencing trouble beeps should not be too difficult to implement. It appears this can be done with an E27 firmware update. I asked them to add this to the development task list. Hopefully we can add this soon.

Please continue to provide feedback as it is very welcome and helpful as we continue to refine the system.
