Each account in the database must be assigned a unique Account ID. The ID could also be considered the account number, except that more than just numbers are allowed. Any letter, number, or other character is allowed, up to twenty characters in length. The same account numbers you assign customers for your accounting records could be used in ElkRP. Central station account codes could also be used. Examples of valid Account IDs are:

Once an account ID is assigned, it cannot be changed. However, the account can be saved under a different account ID. Click the File menu, select Save As, and enter the new ID. After saving the new account under a new ID, the old account may be deleted if desired.
