ELK-6023 Recessed Door Contacts

Using two of these for exterior doors.  The clearance on both are around 1/8″ and perfectly centered.  One of the sensors very intermittently has not been going back to normal state after closing the door.  The fix is to open and close the door and the state goes back to normal.  Today had the same issue on the second sensor.  Is this as simple as replacing the batteries?  They have been in service for about a year.  Seem to recall seeing batteries should last several years.

Fiberglass doors.  One thing to note: I have an M1XRF319 and an M1XRFTWM mounted in the basement ceiling about 5 feet apart, maybe I should separate them further?  I will play around with locations like you suggested.  I also have to contend with a steel I joist.
