When using a bus input expander with separate power supply and battery backup, is it possible to have the system monitor the power and battery status?

There are not any built in remote power and battery monitoring for the XIN or XOU. You can power the expander from the power supply and you will get a trouble if it loses power. But it wouldn’t be able to monitor the battery status.
