Fire Alarm to Relay output

I am sorry if this is in the wrong area.  The company I work for just took on a small project to use the ELK-M1EZ8 with smoke detectors.  They purchased the ELK-M1EZ8KBS system.  I have managed to wire the 4-wire Fire Alarm devices and program zone 1 as a fire zone. I can get the Fire Alarm and Trouble to function as expected.  For this issue, I believe we need additional parts, and I cannot prove to my manager that I need them.   I need to be able to program the outputs to trigger a relay that notifies an internal system of a fire alarm and/or a Fire system trouble.  Am I correct that I will need the Main Serial interface and the M1RB (relay board) to connect my PC to the board and program the outputs?

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

In order to connect ElkRP2 to the M1EZ8 to create the rule(s) you will need the M1EZ8MSI Main Serial Interface https://www.elkproducts.com/product/m1ez8-main-serial-interface-m1ez8msi/ . The M1EZ8MSI provides a Serial port so you can use a USB to RS232 Serial cable and direct connect.
