Trying to set up a Honeywell 5816OD outdoor contact connecting to an ELK-M1XRF2H. I have communication and the main internal zone is working correctly. I’m trying to get the tamper function to trigger on a separate zone but it always triggers on the same zone as the internal contact. Is the tamper available as a separate output only or will it always violate the contact zone?

      My settings on RP2 are

The internal contact zone:  Definition – 16;  Type – 0

      Wireless:  Normal supervision; Loop# 2

      The Tamper zone: Definition – 16;  Type – 0

Wireless:  Normal supervision; Loop# tried 0, 1, 3   Using the same HW ID on both zones. No Options are selected on either zone

When you mention the Tamper do you mean the Tamper Switch for the sensor itself or are you trying to use the External Hardwired option for the 5816? There isn’t a way to separate the Zone from the Tamper to have two different events.

I was trying to use the internal Tamper on the sensor itself as a separate zone. I have some Z-wave sensors that I use in a different application that separate the tamper notification and I thought the Honeywell might also.

Do most of the Elk wireless 2 way sensors have separate tamper. I used the Elk-6030 PIR in a previous system and I thought it provided tamper but it was quite a while ago. FYI to marketing – sure wish you had an outdoor rated gate contact in the Elk 2 way wireless sensors.
