I’ve just acquired a “used” M1G (it was mounted on a wall, but never actually installed). Everything was still in boxes, terminal blocks in a bag, etc. I was just wondering how old it might be. I just installed ELKRP2 and everything set up just fine, with default codes, etc. This also gave me an indication of the firmware versions: Boot 3.3.6, Firmware 5.3.18, hardware rev .13. Serial number is 96XX. In checking things out with ELKRP2, only the Firmware had a newer version (3.3.6) which I just upgraded to. All this tells me it’s not too old, unless the mainboard firmware was upgraded at some point. My question is: What do these numbers tell me, especially the serial number and hardware rev. Not a big issue, but I’d just like to know the approximate age. So far, I really like what I’m seeing in terms of programmability, and I’m learning!

What is the Serial Number of the M1G? The M1 Serial Number is located at the bottom of the black plastic housing and is 8 digits starting with “0”

Ok thanks! So it looks like it was likely upgraded at some point, such as having been new old stock in an inventory, and maybe upgraded before getting sent out.

Anything I should be aware of with that vintage? Hardware revisions are usually done over time, so it would be interesting to know if there is anything to be careful about.

Your bootware is already at 3.3.6 so you should be able to update the Firmware to 5.3.36 in one update without issue

Yes, I already upgraded to 5.3.36. Thanks.
