I’m curious about PoE lighting and the possibility of utilizing the input and output capabilities of the Elk M1 panel to provide this functionality. My thought is the inputs would detect which light is being activated and an output would be used to trigger a relay to allow the power to the designated low voltage LED light. Are there any glaring concerns using the inputs/outputs in this manner? To expand the functionality I was thinking of creating virtual devices in HomeSeer that would be able to interact with the input configuration.
I welcome other suggestions that would be better suited for this idea.
