Installing E27 at commercial client having pretty extensive IT security.  The E27 panel itself is ethernet-cable connected to network and ultimately the internet, and we’ve sorted out all the connectivity to make it work.  I can access the panel on my phone’s ELK Connect app and its set up and running fine.  The distinction is that the panel is on their corporate network, while my phone is accessing a “guest” WIFI portal to the internet.  It all ends up in the cloud together eventually, so it works.

The problem is in order to update firmware, we apparently have to be on the *exact* same local network.  We’re apparently not “local” together sufficient to allow me to perform firmware updates.   The E27 panel doesn’t have WIFI, and they really don’t want my phone on their secure corporate network.  Is there another way to update firmware?

        Keith,

I don’t know if this will work in your scenario, but I have used it in similar situations with other equipment.  Connect the panel with an ethernet cable to a wifi router standing alone.  Connect your phone to the router and then the panel to do the updates, then reconnect the panel to the customer network.

John is correct, you can utilize a basic Wi-Fi router that you can temporally implement.

Additionally – We are working on a SD Card Firmware update option. Where you can put in an SD Card with updated firmware, then press the function button to start an update.
