Alarm Engine Support Forum Error adding new user

      I’m trying to add a new user, but get an error pop-up:  “Unable to create the new user on the device: Cloud Error: dup pin”,  but the pin code I’m trying to use for the new user is unique.

        Are you adding the pin from the web portal or the app? Are you connected with a User pin or with an Installer pin?

        Edit: Based on the error message this was from the Web Portal.

        Please review all the of the “PINS” in the panel to assure you are not duplicating one that is possibly there by default.

        Possible Default PIN Codes:

        • Installer Pin -1728
        • Master Pin – 3456
        • Duress Pin – 0911

        All defaults can be changed.

        Additionally, 0000 is a restricted PIN code.

        Also, the panel keeps track of the names assigned to PINs, if you have the same name it will show as a duplicate name error.
