I have an old M1XEP version 1 that I want to update to the latest firmware. I tried the “Special M1XEP 2.0.34 Updater Utility” but the M1XEP is too old for that to work. I have an old Windows 7 PC but am having trouble getting a version of Elk RP to run properly on it so that I can update the firmware. Is there a version of Elk RP that I can download today that would run properly on Windows 7 and allow me to upgrade the old M1XEP? Thanks in advance.
Do you have access to a PC running WinXP? If so you should be able to update the M1XEP Firmware however depending on the current version it could take several Bootware and Firmware version in order to get to the latest. If you are able to determine the current Boot and Firmware email this to techsupport@elkproducts.com and we’ll need to send you some BIN files. You could try the legacy 1.6.26 https://www.elkproducts.com/m1-owner-support-downloads/ but no guarantees it will run on Win7 with the latest MS updates and allow you to connect.
Thanks Brad. I was able to install ElkRP 1.6.26 and it can find the old M1XEP but it will not connect (“failed to connect to server”). I am not sure what the Bootware and Firmware versions are. It’s been sitting on the shelf for a while… sounds like I might be stuck. I’ll see if I can find a WinXP PC.
