Remote Programming is the process of configuring permanent settings in a system that affect its operation such as user codes, entry delays, zones, etc. Remote Control, on the other hand, is real-time access to the state of the system.
After connecting to a system, click the Status icon on the toolbar. The window that appears allows you to view the system’s current status (armed/disarmed, zone status, etc.). It also allows you to arm or disarm the system, bypass a troubled zone, and silence alarms. Exactly what can and cannot be done depends on which system and model ElkRP is connected to.
