Remote Programming Versus Remote Control

Remote Programming is the process of configuring permanent settings in a system that affect its operation such as user codes, entry delays, zones, etc. Remote Control, on the other hand, is real-time access to the state of the system.

After connecting to a system, click the Status icon on the toolbar. The window that appears allows you to view the system’s current status (armed/disarmed, zone status, etc.). It also allows you to arm or disarm the system, bypass a troubled zone, and silence alarms. Exactly what can and cannot be done depends on which system and model ElkRP is connected to. For more information, open the help file for that system and search for “Remote Control” or “Status.”
