May 2, 2025 at 8:16 pm #9027JOHN WADENewest update seems improved. Can you resend to above s/n. Local internet outage may have prevented it from being received.
May 2, 2025 at 8:32 pm #9029Michael BurrellJohn – The updates are published until downloaded. The touchscreen checks for the update when ever it is on the installer settings page. Can you access the installer settings page? The prior beta version this was hidden behind the time and date.
If you tap the time and date you get the installer update page, the update will show there. After the update, the installer settings and display settings will be in the menu.
May 12, 2025 at 11:10 pm #9056Terry PhillipsHi Michael,
I have a system with two touchscreens, and they are both showing the temperature in the 100s. For example, the temperature is set to 72 degrees Fahrenheit(720). When the screens were purchased, it was mentioned that they would not be 100% but would be functional for the most part. I’m just wondering if this is a known issue and should wait for an update.
Also, how do you update the touchscreen? They don’t show up in my app under network devices.
Hardware version: 0.014
Fireware version: 0.0.5.65
Bootloader version 0.02.24
Thank,
T.P.
May 13, 2025 at 9:20 am #9057Michael BurrellTerry,
I appreciate the feedback. I believe the issue you’re experiencing is due to an older version of the touchscreen beta software. Control firmware version 0.5.65 supports the precision required for displaying temperatures in Celsius. Celsius temperatures are reported with three digits, including a decimal point. What you’re seeing as “720” is Fahrenheit being displayed in the Celsius format without the decimal point.
Support for proper Celsius formatting was added in a newer beta version of the touchscreen software.
Can you please confirm the software version currently running on your touchscreen? The latest beta release is 0.13.040. You can check this on the About page of the touchscreen.
Depending on the version you’re running, the update method may vary. If you’re on an older version, you’ll need to ensure the touchscreen is connected to a network with internet access. Then, tap the time/date on the home screen. This will take you to the Installer Settings page, where you should see an update banner at the top. After 0.13.040 the installer settings page is in the menu.
If you’re unable to access the Installer Settings page or the update isn’t showing, please share the touchscreen version and serial numbers with me and I can confirm.
Thanks,

Hello Michael,
Thank you for your prompt response!
The version currently appearing on my touchscreen is 0.12.166, Serial # 100268035.
Here’s a quick summary of what I’ve tried so far:
- With Wi-Fi connected, clicking the top right dropdown presents a few options, including “Installer Settings.” However, when I select this, it only prompts for Installer Name, Telephone, and Email, along with an active button labeled “Factory Default.”
- I found the time and location details within the Settings dropdown, but there doesn’t seem to be any option for firmware updates there.
- The only place I see an option to update firmware is by clicking the (!) icon, which offers a “Download Firmware” button. However, I don’t have any new firmware to download. Additionally, the firmware page displays information about the Alarm Engine version for the Alarm Engine Controller, but not the touchscreen firmware.
I’m sure I missed the spot to update firmware, but I could not find it. I would appreciate any guidance on how to proceed with updating the touchscreen firmware.</div>

<div>Thanks,</div>

Version 0.12.166 is quite outdated, so let’s get that updated for you.
The primary reason you weren’t seeing the update is because your screen was not flagged as part of our beta group. I’ve added it as of this morning. Now, when you navigate to the Installer Settings page, you should see a banner prompting you to update. If you do not see the banner and you’re certain the device is connected to the internet, please reply to this thread and we’ll take a look. There is one additional step that may be required due to the jump from an older version, but it’s not typically needed.
Once you’ve updated, you’ll need to use the new linking process. Here’s how:
-
Open the mobile app while connected as the installer/dealer.
-
Go to the Network Device Settings page.
-
Scroll to the bottom and tap Network Device Linking Credentials.
-
Set a Passphrase (this can be a word, phrase, or numbers).
-
Enter an Access Code (1–8 digits).
-
Click Save.
After updating, the touchscreen will prompt you to enter these credentials to complete the link. Once linked, it will automatically maintain its connection with the control panel.
To configure the touchscreen after linking:
-
Return to the Network Device Settings page in the mobile app.
-
Tap the serial number of the touchscreen at the top of the page.
You’ll see the following configuration options:
-
Name – Assign a name for easy identification (e.g., “Living Room”), especially helpful with multiple screens.
-
Areas – Choose which Areas the screen can access. Area 1 is selected by default. Note if multiple Areas are selected, you can swipe left/right on the screen to switch between them. The screen will function as a global device, showing alarms, delays, troubles, etc., for all assigned areas. “Not Ready” sensors are only shown on the respective home page of each Area.
-
Quiet Time Start/End – Not currently implemented.
-
Screen Off When Idle – Not currently implemented.
-
Silent Entry – Suppresses sounds during entry delay.
-
Silent Exit – Suppresses sounds during exit delay.
-
Enable Chime – Enables/disables the chime on this screen. The chime enable/disable on the home page of the screen applies to the whole area.
-
Enter PIN to Unlock Screen – Not currently implemented.
-
Enable Quiet Time – Not currently implemented.
-
Hide Automations – Not currently implemented.
-
Enable Manual Alarms – Not currently implemented.
If you have any issues with the update or additional questions, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help.
Thanks,
MikeMay 16, 2025 at 8:47 am #9274Terry PhillipsGood morning Mike,
I’ve verified that the touchscreen is connected to the WIFI by the touchscreen, and the MAC is connected to the mesh system.
It completed the update with minor issues, after i verified the updated version, I moved forward in the procedure. Strike through is showing what was completed.
Also, I don’t know if you would like to send an update to the other Screen at this time, I’m good with that, or we can wait and get the one fixed first..lol 0.12.166 Build 166 Serial Number # 100267998

May 16, 2025 at 8:53 am #9275Michael BurrellTerry,
Great to hear it is updated. On the touch screen its self, you will need to input the linking data to get it linked to the control.
Thanks,
Mike

The touchscreen doesn’t show up in the app- Most likely due to it not connecting to the system. Just sets there and spins—Connecting—
I have restarted the touchscreen and panel- Also ensured connectivity to network.

In the touchscreen, you will see these pages.
This is the discovery page, it should show your control to link to. My demo sees all the test systems at ELK. You should only see one. If you do not, confirm the screen is on the network with the control.
Then, click on the system when you see it in the list. It will prompt you to enter the link credentials.
If this is not showing properly, verify that the touch screen is on 0.13.040. If so, then under installer settings, click factory default and reset the screen. This will clear any settings in the AE Application and return you to the selection screen. Note: on first selection of the application it will run some configurations and restart the screen after a couple mins.
Let me know if this gets your system working. I have published the update to the other screen as well.
Thanks,
Mike
May 16, 2025 at 9:28 am #9280Terry PhillipsMike,
