ElkRP uses the terms send and receive to indicate in which direction data flows between the system and ElkRP. ElkRP sends data from the database to the system and receives data from the system to store in the database.
Within the industry, historically, sending has been referred to as downloading and receiving as uploading.
ElkRP can send or receive a single item, such as a zone definition. It can send or receive groups, such as all zone definitions, at one time. Finally, ElkRP can send and receive the entire system programming with one command.
Data can be sent or received by clicking on the Send/Rcv menu or the Send/Rcv icon on the toolbar. Alternately, clicking the right mouse button on an item in the left pane gives a context sensitive menu with various options including sending and receiving. What options are presented depend on what the item is. In some cases, clicking the right mouse button on an item in the right pane will also provide a context sensitive menu that includes send and receive options.
