ElkRP allows you to edit an account whether connected to the system or not. If ElkRP is connected, any change you make to an item is automatically sent to the system when you navigate to another item. However, no changes are saved to the database until you save them.
To edit an account, that account must be opened. Locate the account and open it. The Account Details screen appears first. Browse the items in the tree view in the left pane to select an item to edit. When an item is selected, the right pane displays it in an “Item View.” In the item view are various text boxes, check boxes, spin boxes, and drop-down lists.
Text Boxes
Click inside the box to place the cursor there. New characters are inserted at the cursor as they are typed. Use the arrow keys, the Del or Delete key and backspace key to move around and delete characters. Most text boxes have a limit on the number of characters allowed. When the limit is reached, no more characters will be inserted. Some text boxes limit what characters or values may be entered. If you press a key and that character is not allowed, it will not be inserted. If you enter an invalid value, the box will turn grey.
Check Boxes
Check boxes display one of two values. A checked box indicates “yes,” an unchecked box indicates “no.” Note the wording beside the check box. Some check boxes must be checked to enable a feature, while others must be checked to disable a feature. To change the value of a check box, click on it with the left mouse button.
Spin Boxes
A spin box is a numerical text box with up and down arrows. Click either arrow to increase or decrease the value in the box. You can click and hold the left mouse button to make the box “spin” up or down. When you get to the limit allowed for that box, it will stop spinning. Some spin boxes allow you to type a value in addition to using the buttons. If you do, and the value is out of range, the box will turn grey.
Drop-down Lists
Click on the down arrow to display a list of options. You are limited to choosing an item in the list. Scroll through the list using the scroll bar until you see the option you want, then click on it.
