Several files were installed on your hard disk with ElkRP. Most of these files are system files and were placed in the ElkRP folder or in the Windows system folder. Some files, however, are created by ElkRP automatically as needed. There are several files that may be located anywhere on your hard disk or on a mapped network drive. The system administrator must tell ElkRP where they are.
Accounts Database
The Accounts Database contains all customer accounts information. The default name for this database is ElkAccts.mdb, although your system administrator may rename it to whatever he chooses. There may be more than one accounts database. To specify which one to open, click on the File menu and select Open Database. If a database is already open, it will be closed before opening another.
Operators Database
If Multi-operator Access is enabled, the Operators database contains a list of the operators and their passwords. The name of this database is Ops.mdb. It may be stored anywhere on the hard drive or on a network drive. If ElkRP is installed on only one computer, it should be located in the RP folder. The default location of the RP folder is C:\ProgramData\RP . If multiple operators use ElkRP on a network, it should be stored on a common network drive or on a file server. The system administrator specifies where this file is to be kept. Click the Setup menu, choose Options, and then click the Files tab.
Log file
ElkRP maintains a log of every operator that logged on and what they did while logged on. The system administrator must specify the location of the log on the Files tab in the Options section of the Setup menu. The name of the log file must end with .txt although the prefix may be any valid Windows file name.
Flash updates (.bin or .app files)
From time to time, Elk Products may release firmware updates for systems’ main units and their peripherals. ElkRP can send these updates to the main unit and/or peripheral. These update files end with the suffix .bin. It is suggested they be kept in a single folder beneath the main RP folder (i.e. C:\ProgramData\RP\Updates) or in a common folder on a network drive or file server if multiple operators need access to them. Tell ElkRP where they are on the Files tab in the Options section of the Setup menu.
